I took the picture from the seat of a twin otter on a return flight back from the Queen Charlottes. It sure is a puzzling site. Look close, its a natural phenomenon. Any remote scensing experts? It really doesn't belong in this thread, but I thought it could be a way to toss a wrench into the task of ID'ing it.  ;)

yups, its at low tide and you can see the drainage of streams from the mainland out into the ocean bottom. ;)

The shoreline there is cool, with garnet crystals embedded in metamorphed igneous rock. The rock also has alot of mica in bedded in it and the place sparkles in the sun. Garnet is the mineral that makes ruby, but these are not gem quality.I forget what the rock is called, but I remember they had a big slab of it in the geology lab in Forestry school. ;)  I believe its called a garnet-mica schist.

I was thinkin those were beaver runs. But they are a little big when compared to the trees.
