Mushroom's up

Those shrooms commonly grow on a rotting elm stump on my uncle's lawn. Wish I could find that shroom book, searched everywhere. I see an updated one available on the web.

I was camping one time with an 'artsy' type. I found a shelf fungus and showed it to her. She asked to use my Swiss Army knife and a short time later there was a really neat picture of a tree on a mountainside with a moon overhead. I don't know how some people have such skill. Anyway, I brought the thing home for display in my office. A few days later, I notice little piles of sawdust (or was it shroom dust?) accumulating. I figure I was real smart when I decided to 'nuke the shroom'. No, it didn't explode but it did ruin the shading that she had done. It had been pure white with shades of tan and brown and I ruined it.

Sounds like it was releasing spores. Could have been haploid or diploid depending on wheather they was spermatazoa or baby shrooms.
