Mushroom's up
« on: May 09, 2004, 08:41:25 pm »
Cut this and a couple others out of a log I went to pick up today. Anybody know what kind it is? Is it edible?  I plan to let it dry and varnish it. Just thought it was really neat.

Those look like what we call a conk on the west coast and to an artist they can be worth more than a good piece of wood if the white part is not damaged with fingerprints or other marks.

That's what we call a shelf too.  But, I'm curious.  What does an artist do with them, Bruce?

Got a couple new mushrooms sprouting this weekend. Friend told me of a place nearby that had wooden mushrooms for sale. I asked what they looked like and he explained the gereral size and design.  So I figured I'd give it a try.  Don't think we can smoke these ones CK.

Shopteacher has been raising more then Mushrooms. He sent me another of his creations in the mail. It has found a home on the little stump table at the end of our sofa where I can see it all the time. I am proud to add it to my collection of treasures. ;D  Thankyou Glenn. I really, really love this type of stuff.
