272XP NO SPARK!
« on: May 08, 2004, 04:20:10 am »
I guess if it aint broke don't clean it. Figured I do a good thing and clean up my 272xp, true up bar, add new air filter ect...big mistake :-[. Put it back together, no spark, seems to be the coil. 2 cycle engines are not my speciality so any help would be appreciated. tested on off switch for proper operation, on position no ground, off position- grounded to chassis.Blue wire- coil to switch appears to always be grounded to chassis of saw, is that correct, i figured on/off switch shorts coil to ground to shut down spark. red wire from coil to ground, seems ok. Tested for spark with plug and screwdriver inserted into wire jumping to chassis, none. I know that these coils are very durable so i am questioning my self, "am i missing something" does husky warranty the module, any help out there. thanks glenn.

You might consider getting a proper test plug.
Check all the wires, make sure they aren't pinched somewhere and the wire insulation isn't damaged.
