I been to thousands of SUV rollovers over the years and there is nothing special about the Ford Explorer. It's in no more rollovers then other makes when you count that there are more Explorers on the road in the USA than all other makes put together. In fact Cal-Trans and the US DOT both tested them and found that they were less likely to roll then most of the other mid size SUV brands on the market at the time, I think 1999. Any SUV is far more likely to roll then a car. They are built tall with a huge traction footprint to weight ratio and thats what allows them to drive in bad weather but on a clear dry highway it's not gonna spin out like a car, it's going over if you get it sideways!

Most tow company's wont tow a U-haul trailer loaded. Folks load them all Wacke with no tung weight and they whip like mad with the serge brake setup they have. They get loaded on a roll back and the car on the wheel lift because of this. The hype over the tire thing led to tons of being sued for this and that and U-haul has to pay big bucks to defined them all even tho they have not lost one yet that I know of. So they said enough is enough, I think soon they wont have trailers at all but rent you a pickup for small stuff.

Kia Sportage and Isuzu Tracker are far more likely to kill you in a rollover then a Ford Explorer!

They just never got all the press as they are far between compared to the Ford.
