Braggin on Chet
« on: April 05, 2004, 07:39:06 pm »
He don't say nothin but I sure am goona. Chet makes some of the finest furniture you will ever see. Even close up its O.K.! ;)  Chet is a true craftsman and I throughly enjoyed not only seeing some of his furniture, but sitting on it, at it and around it. Almost everything in Chet's home is "home made" but you would think it came from one of the finest custom furniture makers shops. And matter of fact, it did.

Here are some pictures of just a few of the pieces Chet has made.

I want to add that Chet uses exclusively his own wood. He mills it, and drys it.

What!  That can't be.  You know wood is no good unless it comes from the box store. :-/

Chets furniture is better then anything I would find in an expensive store. He made it with his hand and should be very proud!  The grapes on the wine cabinet were done by the wax lady ( that be chets wife).

That reminds me of my Finnlander uncle from da UP. He and my dad used to put out a gill net for whitefish in the fall and early winter. I went over there one time and he had them frozen whitefish stacked up like cordwood outside the kitchen door. The pile was about 3 feet high and 8 feet long. On close inspection I noticed that only the top couple of layers were whitefish, the rest were all walleyes. :o

Chet,
Very fine work!  Did you steam the trim for the table to bend it?  Jeff is correct, you are indeed a very fine craftsman and you have good taste to boot.

Jeff,
I knew Chet drank more than just blue beers.  He just makes out like a simple old yooper.  Now we know he be a sfisticated experienced at life yooper :D
