Yep, I painted it !

On the puter anyways!
Was poking around accessories on the computer and found "Paint" and said to myself what the heck. I couldn't be in the picture because I'm in the foreground painting  :D :D.

Hey Tom, just thinking, I've heard that saying off and on all my life and even say it myself a lot.  As in dad- gummed, or dad-gummed it.........any idea of the origin of the saying?

How long did that take ???

Sick-um Tom!   I've also heard DanG-gum-it.   I bet it was a mix up of dad-gummed-it. ;D In my minds eye I have a picture of a kid telling his Mom how his Dad made a mess of some kind that he was getting blamed for. :D :D :D

And, no I am not gonna draw it up with Windows Paint. :o

Always seemed to me it is a reverse of some letters that cover for the swear word G** D*** it, but with a swithching of letters to  Dag Gum It, and a stretch to come up with Dag Gumm It. I don't hear Dag Gummed it very often.  Dag Nab It is another. Gol Dang It another.   Just a thought.

I sure remember when I was very young and heard my grandmother say Dag Gum It, and I knew she was REALLY mad about something. I try to limit myself to those words when in mixed company for sure. But if I hit my thumb with the hammer, I sometimes slip into the real GDI thing  ::). (On another note, I gave up golf because I found myself using the same language as when hitting the thumb, and decided I didn't need that kind of frustration  ;D )

Several months ago my granddaughter was painting a picture on the computer.  When I happened to walk by, I noticed her picture and remarked how an dang-gummed  :D are you doing that  :o? She replied, I'm using the Paint program. I was really impressed with her.

So I tucked that little bit o knowledge in my PC that came with me at birth. Only trouble is most of the pathways have been burned out over the years and it takes awhile for some of that info to resurface. When I was poking around the store bought puter and seen Paint, that little bit o Knowledge suddenly reappeared :).

If you like to doodle as I do. I think you might enjoy playing with Paint.  The above pic was my 1st real attempt at drawing anything, just imagine what someone with real talent could accomplish! There probably is another more powerful program on this PC, maybe I'll just have to keep poking around or better yet have my granddaughter show me  :D :D.

EZ,  If you could scan your mill and IM it to me, I'll give it my best shot, er, I mean spray  :D.

Brian, there are pictures of my mill on page 4 under Sawing First Log, if you want to give it a try. I prefer blue but you can surprise me if you want.

Here ya go EZ.  2 shades of blue and a little bit of my favorite color  ;D.  I lost clarity of your logo on the mill when I compress to 15k.   What it said was " EZ DOES IT  SAWMILLING "

I had a 100X75 foot towing office/truck shop for my towing business in Arizona.   We had a wrecked T600 Kenworth wrecker and it was purple and black.   We replaced the hood and shot it purple over a weekend, looked great even. 8)   Monday the office folks came in (2 dispatchers and my wife) to an office that was covered top to bottom with purple overspray! :D :D :D   It took weeks and weeks to clean it up and the wifes good stapler still has some on it to this day. :D :D :D   So use tons of plastic in that garage if you are using a spray gun EZ!! :P

Your welcome EZ,  I found another paint program and didn't have the slightest idea of what I was doing, but I had fun anyhow!
I agree the blue and orange kinda clashes.
Good luck on painting your mill!

I wanted to bring it home today but now its snowing, raining, freezing raining. :( I called my brother-in-law to see if the paint was dry, he said it was still pretty tacky. I used this kind of paint called Rockwell, its a DanG good paint for this kind of project. When it finally drys it harder then a rock,I used it on the old frame and it held up real good.
I miss my mill. ;D
