WHEW!
« on: February 14, 2004, 12:22:35 pm »
:P I just finished reading all "most" of the Sawmills and Milling Forum.  ;D ;DIt took me about 40 days at a couple pages a day.
There is so much good info here it's almost overwhelming :o. And some of y'all are just plain crazy ( ment in the best possible way of course ), I feel like I might just fit right in ;D  8);D.
:-/ I was wondering why some pictures are missing from the last few pages, and many of the older links nolonger work? ::)
Been doing so much with so little for so long I can now do anything with nothing, except help from y'all!
By the way rbarshaw is short for Robert Barshaw.
My Second Mill Is Shopbuilt 64HP,37" wheels, still a work in progress.

I like to go back and read those old posts too.  Lots of fun.

The links and missing pictures are generally those that were on a picture site.   Folks will link to another site or their web page and then, after a period of time, purge their page or the site goes out of business.  That leaves a broken link on the Forum where their picture was once seen.

To make sure that your pictures remain on the Forum we have asked many times that they be put in the Forestry Forum Gallery by using the picture download procedure described in the Forum Tools section at the top of the page.

The size must be limited because we store so many of them and some members think they can get better quality by linking to another site even today.

What do they say about History?  ".... it will repeat itself?

We have also had some catastrophic instances in our history where the Forum, or parts of it, had to be restructured and we lost some posts and some pictures.  Those are pretty much at a minimum though.

Sure glad to hear of another who has spent the time to study the history of the Forum. :)  You will be a top notch member for it. 8)

Welcome rbarshaw from a fellow ex-bubble head! I "retired" from the USN as ET2 ss(nuke). Stay tuned to the Forum there is a ton of good info.

BTW I served 4 years on the USS Haddo SSN-604.
Mobile Demension sawmill, Bobcat 873 loader, 3 dry kilns and a long "to do" list.
