One of the best 2012 Superbowl commercials, IMO, and worth watching.

The political undertones really annoyed me.  But it was powerful.

As a Canadian I say Kudos on this one. Political undertones yes but mostly good ones IMHO

There a lot of good people between the "shining seas and Canada/USA & USA/Mexico boarders. Most of the not so good ones are in DC.

Well, I got to see that (we dont have a TV here) but was at my buddies place to say hello since he invited me. I did not see the game BUT did get to see that commmercial (and Maddona ;))

I didnt catch any of the political undertones (was surprised to see that commentary on AOL news) but REALLY liked the commercial.

Yes, very nicely done. I also did like the one from the otehr year as well. "Imported from Detroit", another good one from Chrysler. I dont know who Eminem is though, thought it was M&M's :D

In my younger days, thirty years ago, I was quite politically active in work place issues. In a discussion with a very wise old woman I stated how much I disdained the politics of trying to get things done and that being pragmatic was going by the way side. Never forget her response, " Son you woke up this morning, from that moment until you go to bed your life is going to be ruled by politics.

My thoughts on the ad are about time people in this country start to take our pride back and promote a work ethic that deserves it. A great ad although I have a serious problem with the location of production.

It is my understanding this was not produced in Detroit. Why would any production agency make such an ad and not film on location. Does nothing but cheapen the message.

I am amazed at how political it has become. I could make a case that this ad was made to enhance the political chances of left/right and or center.

Wonderful commercial. Chrysler posted its first full year profit this last year. GM is profitable and once again the biggest car maker in the world. Ford is doing great. They are adding jobs, good paying ones at that.

I don't know if this ad was meant to be political. Seems to me the most important thing is that the auto industry in America is back in full force. The politics matter a whole lot less than the results.

I guess it boils down to what 'ol Clint meant by "halftime".  Regardless, as previously stated, it is a powerful message and Clint is good at delivering that sort of a message.

Yahoo News had a story yesterday where Clint was answering for the alleged political undertones. He and his people denied any support for the Obama administration as speculated.

I think that the message speaks for itself, and that it speaks to us both individually as well as collectively.  The entire national debate re "political undertones", IMO, is a bunch of hooey.

Either political party can interpret the message for their benefit; thus it strikes me as politically neutral for that very reason.

I am disappointed that what should be a great, encouraging message to our citizens has had it's effectivness reduced by national political and media theatrics.

Scott, when I first saw it I heard the message and was impressed. Then over the next few days listened to all the hooey. ;)  Yessir, it is a shame that it just couldn't be accepted at face value.

Yes, it was a good add and Clint is tops.  But, my friends it is not half time, we are in play and it is in the final two minutes. We need to wake up before it is too late.

Scott, I should apologize to you and all of my countrymen because I'm one of those people.  Seriously, I apologize and you are probably correct.  Guess I'm just gun shy.  Or maybe I am looking at how it was the gov't directly stepping into the auto industry to prop up a broken system.  ???

When I saw the ad the first time, I immediately thought that what Eastwood meant by "halftime in America" was that the current administration is only half done with their game.  I seriously expected to see Obama say something at the end of that ad.

I will shut up now because I don't want to trounce on your thread any further.  Clint's message was powerful and I'm glad you posted it here.  Thank you.
