Super Bowl eats?
« on: February 03, 2012, 04:33:41 pm »
We always enjoy Super Bowl Sunday, although usually more for the food and the new crop of ads. :D That being said- What do you make/eat/share for The Big Game? We are all about finger food, usually smoked. I do wings and ABT's on the smoker to go along with various snack foods. In keeping with trying something new each year, I'm going to stuff dates with a little jalapeno, then wrap in bacon and smoke. Should be .... different!

What are your plans?
I hope my ship comes in before the dock rots!

Looks like I get to push snow, but don't worry I know better than to eat it if it's yellow  ;).

I have breaded them but prefer my wings naked, out of the fryer with a little salt then Texas Pete Wing Sauce.  Not that I'm counting but, one wing is about 110 calories.

I'm trying to make a tortilla soup for the first time, in the crockpot. I have put everything but the kitchen sink in it(didn't fit). Just in case it doesn't work, I got brats for the grill waiting in the wings.

I'm thiniing chicken wings, too.  Usually I just spinkle them with Tony's seasoning and bake in the oven. But this time I will wrap them with bacon then sprinkle. ;D

I'll have everything done before the game. Then just fix a plate and or or graze. I don't make the deserts though. It's also my Granddaughters 5th birthday so I figure it's time she learned about football from Grandpas Lap. :) :) 8) 8)

I soak the wings for a few hours in wing sauce, then throw them on the smoker for about 1-1/2 hours, hitting them with more wing sauce when I think of it. Should be less calories than frying, but hey, who cares?
