Brand new LT70
« on: January 31, 2012, 02:41:42 pm »
not me, but my friend Warren has been trying to buy a mill, I demoed my mill for him last week and he liked it, but he has a big wood business, so he knew that hydraulics were for him. so at the end of last week he ordered a brand new LT 70 and Marty Parsons delivered it today.(talk about service)  What a nice machine and it was good to see Marty here in the garden state, doing his normal very thorough job of explaining all the ins and out's, and safety concerns about running, setup and sawing with the 70 and he cut up a few logs to boot. This machine came decked out with every option you can think of. just add a lazy boy and a cooler of ice water and you could spend the day lounging and running it from the remote control station, not too shabby.

big yanmar diesel. pretty quiet, and no smoke

Marty and the new proud owners

making mincemeat out of the first oak log, man can that thing cut

heavy duty blade guides

log turner, I alway thought these were synthetic, nope all steel construction driven from a hydraulic motor

I wish them luck and now I get to go home and throw stones at my lt28 LOL

I hope you both did the paperwork to earn the 2% discount for demoing your mill. Two percent of an LT70 is a decent chunk of change :).

Don't you just love that new mill smell. After using an LT-70 it will spoil you for outher mills as they are a hard act to follow. The only thing better is a three phase electric with honest three phase.Be aware big cold hands and little switches you will make some wrong moves, just take your time learning. It's a great program.

I once had a guy watch me saw a couple of logs, ask a bunch of questions, go look at my product, and then walk away with a friendly wave. Six months later I found I had a credit with WM. Seems my visitor was sufficiently impressed to buy an LT15 and mentioned that I'd demo'd the saw to him. Very nice surprise :).

Thanks Tom,
Great to see you.
During the training I asked them to bring me a 8' x 25" log. They brought me a 14' x 30 " Pin Oak log. So much for easy, take it slow training. The mill worked well but the new owners were  :o  with all the information to process.

At least you now have a friend in "high places".  Congratulations to the new owner.   smiley_thumbsup
