Not sure on the lumber value of tape hole tree/logs.  but like others said more value in the sap.  I use the plastic taps, they work pretty good, I only tap for myself and love it.  lots of work boiling with WOOD fired pan/boiler that I made.

Yes it's mostly all plastic now and miles and miles of pipeline. The darn moose are a problem.  ::)

Pre-commercial thinning pays off. :)

Never seen an animal as dumb as a moose. Charge at the slightest noise or movement. Try to avoid them at all cost when I'm out and about in certain areas here.
