Cant Hook
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:26:37 am »
Ordered my first cant hook last night.  A log rite from woodmizer.  I have read good reviews about the log rite and decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and try one.  Just gathering logs as of now, but still looking for a mill.

When I bought my mill in December, the guy said "don't forget the cant hook, I don't want to look at it anymore." :o He had a bad back-couldn't use the mill-and was frustrated because of it. :-\

Lots of positive reviews on here, and look to your left. Plus they have there own sponsor sub-board on the forum. ;)

Nope, stir the grits.

Actually, had I known just how much better the Logrite was, I would have had 3 of them long before my 11th year of sawing.  I had that blue 60" Logrite in a 16' Red Oak today that was 26" butt.

The two 48" Logrites are my every day go to's.   smiley_thumbsup

You may want 2 of them, a shorty for handling cants on the mill and a standard for handling logs around the mill.

Happy with mine!

UPS delivered my logrite cant hook this afternoon.  Woodmizer was fast in processing and shipping the cant hook to me.  I didn't expect it this soon with standard shipping.  I am very pleased with the way the tool looks (strong).  Cant wait to put it to use bucking and gathering up some logs.  After seeing this in person I plan to order some more after the purchase of a mill.

Thanks everyone for your support and answering newbe questions....  Without your sharing of knowledge I am sure there would be a large sum of money wasted by many on useless tools.....

so you all are saying that the logrite one is the one to get, am i hearing this right?  From the pictures, I can't hardly tell the difference between logrite and some of the other options, other than handle length.  I need to order something.
I've got a lot to learn

Dave, I hope your not looking at northern tool Note:Please read the Forestry Forum's postion on this company for a look-a-like, because they are proven knock-offs with weak metal and poor welding. You can injure yourself with those junk tools.

I use my Mill special to turn 50 ft logs I've downed next to the camp so I'm not chain sawing the ground. :)
