Yup, not made any changes to it yet. Been ailing a bit. :)

The app has been failing to load since mid-day - at last.  COmes up with some kind of data base error.

Do I need to download a replacement?

Just had Tammy check it out on her phone and hers is working good, so its not a server problem. Does your phone need to be rebooted?

Don't know.  I've never rebooted it?  How does one reboot a phone?  Turn it off and back on?

I turned the phone off and shut it down.  Then turned it back on and it came up with the brand name screen, etc.  But the FF app still says Data base error.  When I ok this, it comes up with a big ? and says "loading" but it never loads.

One thing,  when  I downloaded an installed the app, I had to turn off securities because the FF App is not an ATT approved app.  Maybe rebooting didn't work as after I had loaded the app,  I turned security back on.???  And it's still on - as far as I know.

You usually have to pull the battery on the phone to get it to reboot. I'd uninstall the app and reinstall it.

I can still get to FF mobile through the web on my phone.

I'll try reloading the app in the morning when I have better brain function.

I deleted the old app. Download and installed new app. Forum-5

Still did not work. Shut down, pulled battery, put back in, fired it up. Still comes up with reading data base error.

At what point to do you get the database error?  Just trying to run the app?

Yep.

It says,  "Data Format Error".

Then,

"There is a problem reading the data associated with this app."

When I press "OK",  It comes up with a big gray box with a big ? (about an inch tall) in a circle.  Under it says "loading.."  but that's it.  Nothing else happens.

Again,  I can get to the Forum from the web side.  Just not from the app.

The mobile version of the website is totally different from the app. I'll have to look into it. I've been distracted from working on the app for the time being.

Nope.  Once the app is installed, its on your phone. There could be something wrong with the app code. Heck, maybe it even has an expire date. This is all new to me, so it may take some time to get it right.  Not sure why it still works on Tammy's phone.

I just had my son download the file from the server and install it on his phone, and it worked fine.

Is it when you try to enter the forum is is failing, or the whole app?  Did you recently get an android update on your phone?

The stupid thing is like Windows, it updates apps all the time.

The message listed above comes up from the first poke of the app icon.

If you go in to your apps you can set it so it doesn't do auto updates. It should be the first thing that pops up on your screen when you open the app.
Androids are pretty simple to use, I use a few apps for business and they sure come in handy while I'm on the go.

If you can install off market apps, you are welcome to try the version I'm working on now.  the download is

http://www.forestryforum.com/forumonefive.apk

If you've installed the first version, uninstall that and install this, then refresh data on the new install.

Your new phone has keys? I key text in on the screen. Only one finger. Poke, poke, poke. It adds punctuation, caps and comes up with suggested words as I poke letters in.

Granddaughter has a phone with keyboard. I think she can thumb 300 words a minute while eating and watching TV.
