I google'd it, looks like a nice saw for $199.00,   8) gas ratio would be the same as Husqvarna

I want to try one to see what it is too. 50cc for $199 and 20" 3/8 bar, why not if you need a saw. It is clamshell design like a husky 450 50cc 455 55cc and stihl 290 56cc.

Not sure where you saw the guy saying it was 20 lbs Fife....  but the pp5020 is one of those that you have to just do a search on right now...  I found this...

http://www.farmandfleet.com/products/690982-pp5020av_chain_saw.html

Granted it IS a box-store saw, but atleast they have a few useful specs..   :-\

I googled the product number it is a poulan, under it all, it is a Husqvarna. Husky owns Poulan. Looks like a lot of saw for the $$.

Come on people use your brain and common sense here. Oh Merry Christmas. Santa has came and went. Now to wake up.  :D
It's a 50cc saw how in the world would it weight 20lbs????????  My 122cc and 118cc saws were 22lbs. Use common sense. When I pack a 3 cube size saw with bar and chain and packing material it will be about 20lbs SHIPPING WEIGHT INSIDE OF BOX. Not the weight of PHO as they are done by factory specs.

I lifted one up at lowes and it felt in the 15lb range with 20" bar and full 3/8 oregon chain on it. So minus bar and chain and some company's weigh without clutch cover on to  give you their empty PHO weights. Whats a 20" bar and chain weight? 3 3.5?

They have it in grey and black craftsman too. Only one I have seen used in that so far and the  ::) wanted a new price on it used on cragslist.

My poulan 330 365 3450 3750 etc have Sweden made crankshafts in them.  ;)

I was reading the link the op posted 5th paragragh.I can't vouch for his method of weighing it. My ms440 is around that with b/c and fluids so I cant see a 50cc at 20# I do know some of the homeowner saws are heavy for thier displacement.

Where did this 20lb figure come from? One of the sites above lists it as 10 and the other says 15.5lb. ???

In the op's link under reviews 5th paragraph is where I seen 20#'s I just looked up a Ms261 Sthilusa says 11.6# I don't think the poulan is as light as a 261 but I don't think 20#'s is correct either.

These specs show what I was thinking it felt like with bar and chain on it. Now I dont know if this meant it had bar oil and gas filled up or not.

5020 Operating Weight    15.15lbs

I wont know for sure till I can get a used one someday.

The old saying ( you get what you pay for ) come,s to mind with you guy,s talking about this saw! Buyer beware is another one! I am not saying there,s anything wrong with Poulan,s I started out with 2 4200,s  way back in the 70,s they where all right. Tim

First hand experience dealing with this. Homeowner and self cutting firewood cutters are cheap to the bone.  This saw will fit the bill for what most tell me they want in a saw. CHEAP $200 and under. Most buy the dang $149 saws and smaller. Talked to one last night that went reconditioned 33cc for $75.  whiteflag_smiley

I have actually told one guy to buy this saw even though I have never ran one and he loves it.   He told me he wanted a saw with 20" bar and around $200ish price. This fit the bill. Now if I can just get it from him someday in future to service it so I can check them out more closely beside handling inside a store.

Howdy:

:o I was on Craigggss list a few days ago and saw a new MS 390 with a "buy it now" price that was exactly two times the price at the local Sthil dealer.  Buyer beware.

God Bless, Ward and Mary.

Dull chains cause accidents.  Accidents cause shorter life spans.
You don't sharpen a chain when it gets dull.  You sharpen a chain to keep it from getting dull.

Was at Lowes today and looked at the 5020 .  With the 20 inch 3/8 Bar and Chain its not light .  I am not a fan of a 3/8 chain on a 50cc saw , but for under 200 bucks seems like a lot of saw .

I would take the 20" bar off and the 3/8 chain. Change it over to .325 full chisel with a 16" bar.
With a little care, cutting 10 cds. a yr, it should last 10+ years.
Like I've always said a saw is only as good as its operator.
