Timber Framing Class @ Heartwood this summer (Western MA)
« on: December 17, 2011, 04:24:00 am »
Is anyone else planning on attending the June 18-22 Timber Framing course at Heartwood in Western MA?

I've sent in my deposit and can't tell you how happy I am to be taking this class.   8)  I've been trying to take a one week intro class to timber framing for 3 yrs now, and due to my crazy schedule I haven't been able to.

I did take a weekend class with Jim which was worth it's weight in gold, and now after I take the one week class I'll have no excuses for not building something  ;D

Just curious if there will be any other forumers (yes that is a word ;D) that are planning on going.  Hopefully I'll meet some of you there!

I've taken one class at the Heartwood School so far and it is a great place with excellent people.  Really good food there as well   ;D

I'm really looking forward to it  8)

I've taken four Heartwood courses so far. I'm thinking about taking the wooden hand plane course this year, the instructor was at my shop with one of this years apprentices on Thursday. Let me know when you will be around, I'll drive up to the school for a visit.

The cost is $675.  They have recommendations on where to stay but I don't know the places offhand.  I've been to one course there so far and stayed in a campground nearby, which I'll do again.

Supposedly in this class it's an all day class of course but then after dinner there are also night sessions so you don't spend too much time in where ever your staying.

Check it out on their website, there is also a registration form and all that good stuff
search for Heartwood school in Western MA and you should find the link to their website.

I'm really excited to take the course as I've been trying to for a few years now.   8)  I figure after taking the class, I'll have no excuses for not building my workshop!  :D
