Here is a pic of my grand father getting ready  to unload the sled. Photo was proped  ::)   He would of taken care of taking his seat off and also the chains would of been unhooked   :D

That question reminds me of watching Wilfred Brimley on the Craig Ferguson show this week.  :) Watch for when Craig asks him what kind of Horse he has.  :)

Wow, thanks Jeff.  I've always liked him.  I've met a few people in Wyoming.  That's what they're like.  Few words, but they mean every one of them.

Norm , I have a few more to put up here , but my scanner and computer as of last night had a difference of opinion and are at the moment inconciliable and OI am working hard at not using my boot to reboot them back to harmony!

The horses he had where percheron and or belgium cross, he never did like to have too big of a horse , always had them at around 1200 to 1500 pounds.

As soon as they reconcile, I will have a whack to put on ...  :)

I don't know much about horses Marcel but any animal that is 1200 to 1500 pounds is big to me. :)

Percherons are beautiful horses.  I like to go to horse pulls. That's where a person can visually see that good teamwork matters.  I remember my first horse pull that got me hooked.  There were several teams that had huge Belgiums and some of them were matched.  One team in paticular was a huge pair of dapple gray horses.  Then there was a team that had one big white horse teamed with a shorter and smaller but very muscular black horse.  The team reminded me of Mutt and Jeff.  That is the team that won. Yep, those two horses worked well together and had their timing down to a science. It was fun watching them beat the beautiful matched teams of bigger horses. I was hooked. It's a relaxing way to spend the day.

Nice wood Marcel. My grandfather had a camera for a long time, but he never took pictures of woods work much. Just camps, sportsmen, game, fish and dogs. ;D

One time he took a picture and was suppose to be woodcock. Figured out it was a picture of his nose, had the camera backwards. :D :D

Thanks for posting.  :)

This is the horse that my memory has when I think of my grand dad and his horse loggin. This is in march of '67 I beleive. My uncle Guy could make that horse do about anything  :) Thats my grand father Norman in the back ground with his axe in hand.

King and my grand dad at the skidway with some sisteen footers.

Back side of my uncle , fixing the load down to be hauled out by King.
