I did it again! :-/ Get my doubtful humor  in a klean string. Well, let´s move in all waste products here!

"Poor Swede:

I'm not sure if you were joking or got confused. Hard to follow your broken english

Carpenter ants escavade wood to make cavities and canals for over wintering and nesting their young grubs. EZ was awakened by his puppy dog that was barking at the ants crawling all over the floor. They were living in his carving he made for the wife. He had the gun because he thought burglars were about the house when he heard the dog barking"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I can understand the language just a little bit, how can it be a problem for You?  ;D ;D
I understood and had a big  :D here. Could nearly see the big ant hunter in 3D.
But I didn´t know the ants get waked up so fast! Just some hours! Or idn´t I understand after all?
I heard somebody used a wordbook some weeks ago so You are in a good company! ;D
Thanks for the consideration and just ask if You don´t understand.
It sounds like everybody is joking.  I am seeing the humor in every post  If language is perceived to be a problem, perhaps questioning by IM {Instant Message} would be in order.   :)
Please don't anybody get ruffled feathers.  On this Forum, I think, the assumption is that a joke is being played out rather than a serious confrontation taking place.
Now, back to my Southern USA colloquialisms so that nobody knows what I'm saying. :D
Why would I or anybody hunt ants with a shotgun.
I am sorry, EZ, I´ll try to stay back in the string.
But do You have to be that amusing?  :) Am I right guessing most wifes don´t want to sleep together with big black ants? Hope there where some doors between.......... :D
Even English to English can be difficult at times. About 10 years ago, I was in Arizona for a two week turbine engine school. There were three of us in this class, Arturo from Mexico, Tazek from Pakistan and myself. All three of us spoke english, but Arturo had a fair spanish accent and used western slang. Tazek on the other hand had an accent that was a cross between british and middle-eastern.  I had very little trouble understanding either of them, and they had almost no trouble understanding me. The problem was, they couldn't understand each other. If I told a joke, we all three laughed together. If one of them told the joke, then the teller and I would be laughing and the other would be pounding me on the back saying "tell me so I can laugh too". I found humor being an english to english interpiter. The best part is that by the end of the two weeks, they were understanding each other pretty well. I still smile when I think of them.  :)
Know need to be sorry, Swede, just a little mis understanding. Alot of stuff I type probably is hard to understand, but I know what I want to say.
The ants were in every room, all over the place. We left the house and went to my moms. When the hardware store opened, I got some bug-bombs and that took care of the ants. My wife said, no more snowman please.
I just wish I could speak Swedish as well as Swede speaks English.  I envy people that can communicate in more than one language.  I have a hard enough time speaking English though. I used to travel to Italy a lot on business before I retired. I've also been to other European Countries and was always impressed that most Europeans could communicate with me in English. I admired that. :)
The language thing is an interesting topic and translations between two very different languages can be confusing at times and amusing as well. I admire Swede for challenging himself to communicate with everyone here. Its a cool thing and makes life interesting for everyone. ;D
When I was a small kid, I lived for a year and a bit with my grandparents who spoke mainly Ukrainian. I learned quickly and remember some of the old folks talking a very broken English that to me, was  funny cause I was able to understand both languages.(Long since forgotten for lack of use..heh). Anyways one day we had company which included a boy the same age as me. We were playing in the hayloft which was quite high up above the barn. My grandma comes out  and says to us in that broken English  "Porcey, Steve, dont be too much round monkey, make it crooked neck.".. Translated ... "Quit monkeyin around up there or you'll fall and break your neck."  :D :D
It's cool that I get to talk to folks from all over the world here. In my corporate days I was a trainer for a company that sent you to other countries to train people to work on their systems. We taught classes that had folks from that region of the world. In HK we had folks from the Phillipines, Taiwan, Thailand and all over the region. The common language was english. By the end of the 3 week course they and me would be speaking in broken enlish so we'd all understand it. I had a lot of fun in those days but sure don't miss being away from home for a month at a time.
I hope some of the folks that come here but don't post cause their worried about how they would be perceived read this and realize they probably have better english skills than me and will speak up and tell about their part of the world.
Tom; It happens i get an IM asking for the point,  telling me I strech the line etc. I know  there can be just 100 km. between opinions of a good joke. So if there is an ocean......... I´m capable to appreciate all the IM:s. :)
stump_jumper; I was  ??? and a little :-/ too but Tom have some good advices!
; Eyyyyyyyyyyy WHAT?? ;D
VA-Sawyer; 30 years ago I was listenig to 4-5 lecturers from all over the world one day a month. In english! I get most of it untill the man from the Australian countryside began to precent his case. I always get my ears Australian "gear" in abot that time he finished his talk.
EZ wrote: " Alot of stuff I type probably is hard to understand, but I know what I want to say."
Seems to be two of us!  :D :D Perhaps some more smileys should be good but sometimes it´s even a way to drop the point.  :-/ Be happy anyway. I am. :)
CHARLIE and Percy; To communicate is one case, Joking is sometimes a little more risky dimension.
When I was 11 y.o. my mother get married 2:nd time. Her brother visited us and had some talk to her new man. Both of them thought the other was a little stupid. My mothers brother said Yes and No at the wrong time and the new husband glared angrily at him. Still there are less than 150 km. betweent where they vas grown up!
I´m glad they didn´t try to joke. 8) Swedish isn´t just swedish.
Duane_Moore; EEyyyyman, geddya-y TV eanya gottay chanca watch´em too! 8)
Norm F. In the north of Sweden we have mines. In old times the miners had a language called "gruv-egelska" (mine english). It´s a mix of Swedish, Finnish and  lokal dialects and after a little training most people could understand. They may not use it anymore of safety reasons.
A friend of mine get his eyes big today and his chin fell to the floor......when I told him that  5 sec. after I tuch the post-button You can read this. ;D
  Hi Swede. There are 2 Burton Brothers that grew up in the same house. They both race Stock Cars in the Nascar Circuit. Their dialect is as different as yours and ours ::) ;D
 Best thing around here is, Post what you want and let the rest figure it out. NEVER take anything personal here. It will bother you, no end.
 However, a weird sense of humor goes a loooonnng way here.
 I travel to Costa Rica occasionally. Spanish is their language, but, use the wrong word and you could be cussin out somebody. They carry Machetes down there :o :o :o :D :D :D :D :D
 You guys have cameras over there ??? ??? We like pics, here. ;) ;) :D :D :D
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
   Second, it is violently opposed; and
   Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
Swede.  A couple of years ago my brother was given some tickets to a Hockey Game.  Now, I hadn't ever been to a hockey game and neither had he.  We went to see the Tupelo T-REX play a Canadian team.  Now the tupelo team was very much amatures and in fact had only won a couple of games in the last year or so.  They hadn't won one at all that year.
When we got there the stadium was almost empty.  There were more Canadians there than folks from Mississippi.  We picked us some seats down near the goal line.
When the game started it was awful.  The Canadians were having a free for all.  My brother and I started cheering the Canadians on.  As most of the Canadians were on the other side the Mississippi folks were really giving us the eye.  We were VERY loud and obnoxious.  After a bit them Mississippi folks got fighting mad.  We were actually watching our backs.  The Tupelo Team also got fighting mad at us, and started playing harder, and better.  They started catching up.
At halftime we went to get something to drink.  Some guys (US) stopped us and asked us what part of Canada we were from.  Come to find out they were mistaking us for CANADIAN  LOGGERS, of all things. I explained that we only lived down the road and had never been to a hockey game.  We were asked WHY in the heck we were hollering for Canada.
I explained myself.  I told a bunch of them that when I came in I could see Tupelo was going to lose.  I told them I would be willing to bet that after making everyone mad, the crowd, the team, and the coach that Tupelo would actually win this game.  (also I was trying to avoid a fight).  ;D
When the T-Rex came back out they were mad, and playing hard.  and..... me and my brother changed sides.  Started hollering, stomping, and clapping for the T-Rex.  They won the game by one goal, the first game they had won all year.
I kid you not, a lot of them folks begged us to start coming to the games just to stir things up and make that tupelo team mad!   ;D ;D ;D 8) 8) 8)
Heya .
So you were mistaken for CANADIAN LOGGERS...musta made you proud :D :D and siked(sp) out a Canuck hockey team to boot. You was havin a good day ya? ;D ;D
Seriously tho, if you ever get a chance to go to an NHL game( Atlanta isnt too far from you) Id highly recommend it. Cost wayyyyy too much money these days but the games are usually very exciting. You Yanks have some deadly good teams(Detroit Redwings, Colorado Avalanche) Playoffs acommin in April and Im rooting for the Vancouver Canucks. The Captain of the Canucks(Markus Naslund) is a native of Sweden. He's our best player. ;D ;D
