Coon, white spruce laying in the grass for 2 or 3 years sops up the water like bread in bean juice on your plate. :D

Good luck on the job, and don't break too much stuff like your college there that abandoned his mill. ;)

Swamp, I don't plan on  breaking things.  The rain shut me down today.  It was pouring pretty hard and don't know how long it lasted or if it is still raining.  I just got in the car and left.  No sense just sitting there twiddling my thumbs.  I really need to get myself a camper to take out there to stay in.

I guess I had better get my pics put on here and figure out  how to put up you tube videos.  ;)  Maybe that will have to wait an hour or so while I go have a nap.   :D

Dawn foams and makes bubbles which is why I prefer Cascade automatic dish washer soap.

Here is some pics of some of the lumber I have sawn.  Cut quite a bit more since then.
The first pics is a few 4x6's and 6x6's x 10, 12, and 16 feet long.  ;D

These 2x6's are shorter than 16 feet.  Some of them need trimming to length yet.

And finally some 2x6x16's that are ready to be moved and piled for drying.

You may notice that I never swept the sawdust off of the lumber.  I need to add a dust deflector on the mill so it doesn't blow sawdust on piled lumber.   ;)

I did take some video of myself sawing a log but it is too long to upload to youtube by some 4 minutes or so.  I do not know how to edit it up to shorten it as of yet but if I can figure out how to split it up into two separate videos I could do that and put them up for the forums critique pleasures.   :D

Magicman, I couldn't find any of the Cascade but I did find some Original Scented Pinesol that seems to be working alot better.

I have also realised that I need to modify the end of the lube tube so that it gives me better coverage on the band.  Thinkin' I got a mod coming up in the near future as I have a windshield washer pump from a car here.  I will add this into the system and modify the end the fluid comes out so that I get better coverage with a wider pattern that covers the whole blade and possibly the underside as I am getting a bit of build up on the underside as well.

First order of business for the customer is find a spot for a lumber shed for all that lumber. ;)

Was thinking, if things got too bad, you have a parts mill sitting nearby. :D

Are the belt sizes, if your still looking.

By putting soap into your water it will decrease the surface tension. That will help to stop it from beading and bouncing off the band.
If you put the driper before the band guide ( if it isn't already) the guide will spread the water over  more of the band.

some people think it decreases the life of the guide bearings, putting the water before them.
some people run a tighter belt on the idle wheel.

YMMV
DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU THINK !

Pine oil products will work but I would try any liquid automatic dish washer product.  The detergent action is what does the work.

Your saw job is really looking well.  Soon you will be having "repeat" customers.   ;)

Well, I may have gotten another 30-40,000 bdft to saw if the logs are still decent enough to saw.  The owner of the logs hasn't even so much as looked at them in quite some time.  He will look at them and determine whether they are still good enough or not as they have been down longer than the logs I am currently sawing and they were all bucked to 16 foot lengths when they were taken out.  The guy that was supposed to saw them when they were taken out stood up the log owner.  He will even bring over a couple of logs to the site I am working at now, if ok with this customer, so I can open them up to give us a better look.  He is only down the road a few miles.   ;D  With any luck they will be good enough to saw.  ???

If you are gonna saw that much wood, you will need strength, so we will send you some grits to fatten you up a little.   Sawdust is not as nutritious  ;D

Don'tcha dare send me no gritz.... Y'all never know what I may send back.   ;)  Grits don't go down this gullet no how.   :D  If'n you send me some I'll use it to fatten up a nice big deer or sumpthin' that's good eats.

Took a few days off from sawing as have some doc appointments and such.  It is also giving me a chance to build a make shift camping setup.  The driving back and forth is chewing up too much of the profits so I am going to build myself a cheap, quick and easy camper style setup on a trailer that I have here.  It ain't gonna be nothing fancy.  Just something that will make do.  I'll do my cookin' on my bbq.

Bad idea about the grits.

Good idea about building a sleeping rig and reducing your daily travel.  Smart move, and take some pictures of your rig when you get it completed.

Well, Danny, I never eat collard greens or turnip greens or mustard greens--------unless I drain off the water and add the juice from pickled peppers, some onions, and bacon.  A glass of tea and some cornbread helps ;D
