Thanks

That was my first thought.  Don't think I have ever been to a show and seen walnut cut.

Been awhile since anyone has posted a video on this thread so I made one to add.
Nice weather this week in Kentucky so pulled the LT40 out and sawed a couple small
walnut logs just to blow a little sawdust;

WOW Charles!
You have Polly's mill looking and working(as far as we can tell) in tip top shape. Thanks for the video. I have really enjoyed all your videos and posts on your mills and the mods you made to them.
I am a little jealous of how well the flipper on your clamp works. Did you have to repalce any parts on it? Mine seems to be missing some stuff. PC

  Paul;
           I have been well pleased with the mill. The only parts I have replaced are the
  2 bottom rail cam rollers, 1 band wheel belt, and one of the blade guide rollers.
  I did rework the exhaust pipes and still need to do some more to them. The original
  muffler had been replaced with the 2 samller mufflers and I found some original
 exhaust pipes on e-bay that I will replace with. The 24 Onan engine is a later model
 than the original. Idles a little rough but runs fine on fast speed. Probably needs a
 carburetor cleaning. I, too, like the way the flipper clamp works. I didn't replace any
 parts on it.
       Here are some pictures of the flipper arm and spring:

 And I also have a small extension to slip on the clamp in down position about 2 inches high:

  I like using the hudrualics  sling_shot

WOW great Video, Thanks for taking the time to make it. Looks like the mill works great. Maybe someday I will get brave and try to make one. I have a bunch of high tech granddaughters  that could help me .

Watched all your videos, Slingshot.  Good stuff.  Like going to an old car show.

Did you paint and fix up the mill yourself?  What year is it?  Got to be one of the very earliest HD mills.

   The mill is a 1989 model. It has the older controls but the bed is the same as the
early 90's.
    And I did do all the work on it myself. I wire-brushed, sanded and did some scraping to
remove the flaking paint before re-painting. Still a little more to do on it. I mixed the paint using Kubota orange as a base. It seems to have come out near the same color as that new LT-70
that is being talked about on another thread  :). I'm with the others, that thing sure looks good.
