here is a shot of the cemetary/burial groud my wife and i bought with our new farm house. :o  the headstone is the son of the previous owners.  they, along with the two of us will also be buried there.  my mother in laws ashes are under a flat stone to the left. :o  i liked her, so don't have a problem being that close now!  :) :D :D :D

I visited my great-grandfather's grave for the first time a few weeks ago. My G-G grandparents were there, too, but they were his in-laws. GG=Grandma rests somewhere else. Funny thing was, he was planted way off from the other relatives. I had to wonder if that was his choice, or their's?

DanG, that isn't that uncommon for spouses to be buried apart in the 'old' days.  You have to remember that they had to get the bodies into the ground fairly rapidly because in many places, embalming was not a choice.  Also, it was horse and buggy days with unpaved roads. One of my ancestor's is buried several miles from his wife merely because it had rained so much that they couldn't transport the body.  The roads were so muddy they were impassable and they had to bury the body.

Woodmills1, being muddy ain't a problem if you make sure you die next to the hole in the ground.....unless it's filled with water........then they'd have to cast you in concrete. ;D
