I've seen 500 acres on black mountain get scalped by those things. They would just roll up and down the slopes. Some of the gravel roads up there you needed 4 wheel drive to go up the loose gravel and sand roads, they were so steep.  ::)

Pre-commercial thinning pays off. :)

welcome to the forum and thanks for the pictures! they look great. hope to see more of them. I'm still waiting to hear from someone who has run a loader-forwarder or a KBL delimber; now THATis a contraption.

If anybody is interested, I have managed to find a few old product videos and posted them to youtube, including this one from 1977 ()

Third generation logger, owner operator, 30 yrs felling experience with pole skidder. I got my neck broke back in 89, left me a quad. The wife kept the job going up to 96.

So was Koehring just a little too big and before its time? I mean watching the video i see alot of what is used totay, just the machines arn't the size of a house..
