To lift any kind of substantial weight on the 3pt you will need to heavily ballast the front end. Then make sure that the front end of the tractor was designed for that kind of weight...

Seen a few tractor axles bent and broken from over ballasting.

Good point on the front ballast required.   I was planning on adding Rim Guard to the front tires and even hang a couple of suitcase weights.   Manaul says back lift is 7,900 lbs but I also read somewhere that the proper ballast is required especially without a loader.  In this case will go very slow with this approach and will double check with the local dealer on the required ballast given what I would like to lift.

Pulled the trigger on the 3 pt forklift and will pick it up this weekend.  Anxious to see how it works as well as how much ballast I will need to add to keep the right splits and balance without overloading the tractor.

Will post some photos in the future.  Thanks for all the advice.
