i figured you must be workin seeing as your frequency of postings had dropped dramatically.

check that top plate in the knuckle of your H for wear. if it wears to the point it breaks the upper boom and wood are swinging straight for you.

thanks maine372 for the tip. i have been working from sunup till sundown 8) i have been cutting alot of veneer and grade logs. there is a mill in North garden VA called augusta lmbr. they are giving me really good prices.  logman, it is a redone 1966 treefarmer c5 with a 353 detriot. the winch is a gearmatic 19, 3 tires are firestone forestry specials and one is a goodyear. thanks for the comments

skidder tires are expensive! im going to get a used one for the right front, judging by the looks of it the goodyear is original ;)

Those pix are great.  Nice c5 too, we're using an '80 c5.  It's not mine though. 
If you don't mind me saying, you're doing good for a guy of any age, and you've got a lot of years ahead.  Keep it up.  And post more of the cool pictures.

A first thinning was just made on part of my leased property.  It's work for you guys, but it is very interesting for us non-loggers to watch.  Thanks for taking time to post the pictures.

thanks guys, i worked half a day today cause the ice started to come down :(. guess ill service equipment tomm. im thinkin about buying a 240 TJ grapple from my buddy. it is in good shape too.
