I never much brought up the issue of souped up saws on this forum because quite frankly the interest didn't seem to be here .Maybe I was wrong about that ?

I agree Al, that's why I didn't hang around much. I got the same feeling at Tree World, not much interest in hot rod saws.

Now if you fella's were to talk a bit about brush saw work, I might be able to entertain you some more. :D  :D

Yeah, Jeff had to cut the throttle cable of one or two big ego types on occasion. ;D One fella figured he was the only one on here cutting big sticks. ;)

Well for heavens sake I never even knew what a brush saw was until you chimed in .Much less how or why to soup one up . I'll bet that thing would be a hoot with tuned pipe . 8)

I seen one young feller make a moped out of one, hooked to a bicycle. :D Neighbor's kid. His father has a shed full of brush saws and bins of parts.

Yup, there is real interesting stuff is spread all over the Forestry Forum and you won't have enough time in the day to read what gets posted daily.

I'll take the blame for the chainsaw board not growing as it could. I do understand that the chainsaw guys are a bit more rough and tumble and used to a different line of conduct then what I will allow here, but our goal is to make sure that anyone and everyone that comes here does it without fear of objecting to content or conduct. Some places are just better suited to sniffing two stroke fumes and arguing about this versus that. Don't let that fool ya into thinking I wash with baby wipes though. ;)

That right there is one reason I like this site !Some of the conflicts on "other"sites can be quite a "turn off",but I keep going back for the "good stuff" and try to gloss over the rancor.
Great job Jeff, keep up the good work !! I'm a "lifer". I may not post a lot but I do appreciate the content & great membership !

I don't doubt that there is alot of other cool stuff on here.  Sadly my time is limited for internet banter.  I have to spend some time in the shop.  I am a gearhead at heart, so I pretty much stick to the saw forums.  I'm actually pretty much of a sissy when it comes to using the things.  I don't mind felling and bucking the easy ones, but the hazard trees can go to someone else or fall on their own.
The rough and tumble crowd can annoy the best of us, so I endeavor to stay out of that.  Sorry if I am coming off like a tool to some of the fixtures around here.  Just wanting to see who else I know.  I have been sniffing around several places to see where I fit in.
I don't try to explain to others why I play with chainsaws.  For those who already know, no explanation is needed.  For those who do not, no explanation is POSSIBLE!

We truth be known you can and do get that on any web forum for whatever reason .

Some forums tolerate it longer than others . .Then too one must always remember there are those that surf cyber space just to annoy others .

It's the saw snobs that irk me the most over there. I never mind a good natured debate but when it turns mean it's time to leave. Some folks never seem to grasp that is the sawyer that makes the saw and not the other way around. I like the plant and tree ID forum here too.

I'll take the blame for the chainsaw board not growing as it could.  ....

I won't blame anyone for wanting to keep it nice, and am not really sure that has anything to do with the number of posts about saws.

However, there is one other chainsaw forum that has a much higher rate of exchange, regarding chainsaw related info - and that is the only reason I spend much more time on that forum than I spend here.
That other forum (site really) is much rougher (for good and bad), but that issue is not my main priority.

Well, I tried to respond from my phone.  I guess that is a no-go...

Anyway, If the grits cannot be eaten with a fork, they're not grits in my book.  I don't do runny grits.  Maybe add a little butter or bacon if it is around.  Otherwise I'll have them straight up.

Sometimes that horse play gets out of hand and becomes the main topic .I've been guilty of it myself ---not here though .

All too often I think people take serious what some of us might say in jest, just bantering ,no more no less . I've haggled and lambasted a couple of west coasters on several forums and they like wise me but I assure everyone there is nothing at all taken seriously about it .Just setting the record straight on that . :)

I am one who actually appreciates the hot saw topics.  Personally, I've only dabbled in muffler mods to date.  I do also have a mildly modded MS460 by Walker's in BC.  However, I've got a few project saws in the works and look to these posts for inspiration.

So please pull up a chair and stay for awhile.
