NYS Woodsman's Field Days
« on: August 12, 2010, 05:03:39 pm »
The NYS Woodsman's Field Days, held each year in Boonville, NY on the third full weekend of Aug will be Aug 20-21-22 this year. I will be there 8/20 and will be wearing my FF hat. This show is as big or bigger than the 2 Sawlexes I went to, Youngstown, Oh and the last on in West Virginia. There are vendors from every aspect of woods equipment including most of our sponsors. I would like to see a lot of you there. In fact I would like to see a FF booth. This is one great show. Besides the displays and lots of operating equipment demo's there is the NYS lumberjack competition which draws competitors from around the globe. This is one of the more premier contests. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBUQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.starinfo.com%2Fwoodsmen%2F&ei=EWFkTIXZDc_YnAeCqKCXDQ&usg=AFQjCNG3LCsOdmhL8jItY9sckquHdfSZKQ
logging small time for years but just learning how, with a Forest stewardship plan, 2 compact Ford 4x4 tractors, 3point log arch, 8000# class excavator, lifts 2500# and sets logs on mill precisely where needed,  Peterson ATS upgraded to WPF mill, sugar maple/maple syrup a hobby gone amuck.

To buy everything I'd like at the woodsmans I'd need more than 1 lottery winning, maybe 1 mega millions if I was the sole winner!
They sure do have lots to look at and druel over. I look all around but mostly just do lots of talking. However, I have never gotten out without something new and lots of new ideas to boot.

Does anyone know the exact address for this show. I did map quest and it says Boonville is just above Utica. Any help would be appreciated. Tonto

The show is held at the Oneida County Fair Grounds. I'll look up a better address for future years. By now it is late to go but it does last another 90 minutes. I will post a map link here when I find it. Look up Ford Street, Boonville, NY and find the "Boonville Fair Assoc., that is the location. Then look west to find the Adirondack Senior High School, parking is on school grounds, directly adjacent to the busiest gate to enter the show. Another gate is on Schuyler Street but little parking available there.
