David,  drop by anytime.  I'm easy to find at milktime.  We havn't been sawing much because I don't want to sell our trees at such a low price.

What you said about seeing others in worse shape is so true.  I fret about my arthritis all the time and after seeing a fellow last tuesday,  I decided I'm in pretty good shape.  It took him about ten minutes to stand up and walk about five feet to the barbershop door with the aid of two canes.

PS,  Fortunately I was able to get to the mailbox just as the mailman crossed the creek and headed our way ;) :D :D  I don't think I even have to say April Fools :D :D

Arky you sumbee, you had us going for a while. Listen pal, none of us needs that kind of news we are all in it up to the neck. Mom said there would be days like this, she just didn't say this many. Hang in there, be glad you wake up above the grass and keep plugging.

So, once we get the straight jacket on him, isn't there still the chance that he will drop down on the floor, roll over to you, and chew your ankles off?

I'm thinking that's a little too dangerous for my blood...

Ha! Ya didn't fool me for more'n half the first post.

The reason ya didn't is that I recall a story posted by a guy over on WoodWeb a few years back. It was about thumbing his nose at his banker and running off with his new girlfriend (someone named Wanda) and making a whole bunch more money than the banker figured he would.

After reading yer post I thought of that story and thought, naw ... a guy like that ain't pulling the plug.

Of corse I read them all.  What makes you think I wouldn’t??   whiteflag_smiley

I pulled my April Fool’s joke on the second.

Mary had been planning to take the girls on a spring break weekend for at least a couple of months.  As she hadn’t decided for sure and where, she didn’t let the girls in on the plans until a couple of nights ago.  They had to go shopping for new shoes, swimming suits, suntan oil and a hundred other things.  Thursday, April first, they were worked up in a state of excitement getting ready.  From the time they got home from school until bedtime, the house was in a state of pandemonium.  I just staid as far away as possible.

Yesterday morning they were up earlier than they had to be for a non-school day.  When I got up they were bustling around everywhere with Mary barking orders..  Everything was inventoried and packed; underwire, socks, books to read, paper, sharp pencils, etc., etc.

I bumbled into the middle and said, “April Fool”!  Alex says, “What?  April Fool was yesterday.”  I said, “I know.  Grandma’s been telling y-all that you’re going on a trip, but she was just faking.  We’re going to stay home and pull weeds, pickup sticks and rocks in the yard.”  The girls were stunned.  “Ahuuuua!:.  Mary was in no mood to have someone stop the flow of packing stuff in the Durango and announced the correction.  For punishment, she sentenced me to go along.  I plea bargained down to making them all breakfast.

About 9:00 am the Durango rolled out the drive after a final check list of crew and cargo that would rival preparation for a NASA space shot, carrying enough cargo to support the Louis and Clark Expedition.    move_it
