ENOUGH !
« on: April 01, 2010, 09:26:47 am »

Well I have had ENOUGH!  Yesterday I got sawdust in my left eye and it has slowed me down when I have had the best weather ever.  Up all night with it scratching and tearing.  Come in this morning and find the guys ran the wrong order into flooring.  One of the two new hands calls in sick and the phone is ringing off the hook people wanting stuff.  When I get something done I can not get them to come pick it up or pay for it.  The Bank pulled my line of credit a few months back and it makes it very very hard to run with you have to work hand to mouth all the time.  I have a pile of bills on my desk and do not have last years stuff ready for taxes yet.  No good logs and no money to buy a load to try to get an order out or to make up for the one they messed up.
Why does it have to be so stinking hard to make a living and live a dream?  I am sitting on a gold mine and have just a tea spoon to dig with.  I can see why people go postal some times and it is a good thing I can only see out of one eye.  I can see ( even with my one eye) why so many small business go out of business.  The owners go CRAZY!
SO I have had enough and I am sending the guys home and calling it quits!

Sorry to hear all that, sounds like a seriously bad turn of events. I agree its harder than ever to get ahead these days, and even when you do something you enjoy all the bs seems to get in the way.  I hope you get that dust out of your eye without damaging it, and I hope you get on your feet soon, Im sure itll come back around soon enough.

Whoa!

I thought for a minute that we might have to come to Arkansas and put you in a straight jacket  :D.

Even though you were fooling, I know things are rough, so hang in there.  If we see you up on top of the sawshed screaming, we will know to come for you  ;D.

You sure sucked me into that story.  I've been on alert for my son, who likes to get me on April Fools every year, but you snuck up behind me and got me good! You're creative though.....I'll give you that!  Great story.  8)

A good hog tying wouldn't keep him out of the mill shed, so a little saw dirt ain't nothing. :D

Man,  I've gotta hurry and try to catch the mailman.  I read Arky's post and feeling sorry for him,  I sent him a check for $100,000 to try and ease his pain.  Now I gotta see if I can get it back since he doesn't need it. ;)

I'd already been there once when I pick my then new mill up and stopped by from Will's in Mo.  09:30 would give me enough time to pack a couple of bags for a couple of weeks.  Called wife and said I'd be gone for a couple of weeks or so and I was leaving to help a friend.  Being retired, she's use to me responding to emergencies around town for family and friends returning within the day.  I've just never been out of town to help a friend. David and his family are good folks and if the mule or oxen is in the ditch, I'm going to help.  I'd made it across the big M river into West Memphis, about 12:45.  Wife though I was up to dirt, came home and read what I'd left on the screen where David was going off.  She read till the next Arky response @ 09:38 and called me.  Phone ringing, "Burchfield"  Wife says "Where are you?"  I said "just getting into West Memphis good why?"  She tells me what was a couple of post down by Arky. I said "I just don't believe it."  David's not that kind of person!  He wouldn't do that!  Ya'll meet me here at the dog track in West Memphis and we'll have a few to good old Arky.   :D :D :D

Well I was going to let it go but I had to leave the yard today to work on a siding job.  After the first post I thought I had better pop the April Fools.

The sad fact is most of the post is the gospel truth.  Things are tough right now but it is not just me.  There are alot of fine folks in the same leaky boat as me and noting to bail with.  At least my head does not hurt any more and after 8 months of migrains that is a blessing the Good LORD saw fit to throw my way.  I will keep working till the Bank locks the gate and not let me in.  Other then that I will keep clawing my way to the top.

Bro Noble I will watch for that check.  ;)  I went by the road to your house off of 5N last Sunday on my way to Rogersville to see my grandson.  Told the wife it would be nice to go and visit with you.  But on the way back down it was about milking time and I know better then show up then.

My Pa always said "That when you are down to just look around and you will see people in worst shape then you.  If you do not see any one else lower then you, then you have hit rock bottom."  "That" he said "is a good place to build a foundation and start up."  Pa is a wise man.  No matter who it is, all will face failure at some time or the other.  The differance is what they do after it.  I have about 2 more hours of day light so I am going to do some more work and may be saw some cedar.
