Al, got a part number & brand on the fitting? I started tearing down my 026 for crank seals tonight.Ed
I was given that option to Joe. But didn't like the idea of whacking the crank shaft too well. You can't really hang on the the flywheel too well that way, since the crankcase surrounds it and only comes off when the flywheel is removed. Screws in behind the flywheel.
Well, if you still feel you're not upto that, the only other tool that can do the job is the Stihl flywheel puller # 1110 890 4500.Is this the image Al?(Image hidden from quote, click to view.)
I'm not one who likes to beat on the end of a crankshaft to get the wheel off .
The bearings are not an easy thing to get for most of them, as you say. .......The bearings I got for the crankcase come from Portugal. The seals are two sizes as well.
. And you can't get a grip on the housing because it's all rounded and you just tear at the housing in a vise as it slips like a greased pig.
We dont see 550s here. Nothing over the 400.Joe
Well, I'm proud to say that I had no break downs this season on the rebuild. I also added up all my areas for the season and I cut over 40 ha. That's over 100 acres of brush on that one saw this year, thank you mam. Stihl all the way!
