What is the guy holding the bottom of the ladder think'n he's gonna do?

If'n some of the supports give way the guy on the bottom could be the next person in space

that would make one huge teeter totter ;)

That does bring back some memories.  I don't like these mercury-vapor lights,  cause I figger if someone is gonna steal something at night,  he otter bring his own light.

I had the old kind of incandescent 'flood' light on a little skinny pole in the yard.  The DanG bulb burned out. >:(

As I mentioned in earlier posts,  I (like Chet and Kevin) consider myself a 'high up-in-the-sky' worker.  Where we differ is that I consider 10 feet high-up -in-the- sky.  Anyway this pole was at least 12 ft tall and maybe even 14.  I got this aluminum extension ladder that's almost as tall.  I could get within a couple of feet of the blamed thing feeling pretty comfortable but then the ladder got rickity and the pole got to weaving.

REA put me in a new Mercury-vapor light.  I got it on a switch though so I can turn it off at night.  I'm no dummy ;D

Percy,

Our youngest son was delivered (in an emergency situation) by this Polish Dr.  I did notice he had holes in his socks though :D :D

I like Polish sausage ::)  But, I don't buy it in a filling station like Jeff. ;D

A yooper would have mounted da light fixture really low on da pole (say 5 feet up). Dat way he could reach it easily if da DanG bulb burned out.   :D

If a Yooper mounted that light only 5 feet up a pole, it would be under the snow all winter.  ;D

My wife wasted 3 bucks for one order of deep fried Oreo Cookies, for my nine year old daughter. You get four per order, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
She, my daughter, took one bite of one, and said: "thanks, I don't want any more of that!" ::)

Ya see now we are talking, you can take almost anything and make it doubly good by putt'n batter on it and throwin it in hot grease! ;D

We do the deep fried oreo's when we go camping...haven't tried the twinke's yet, but there is a rams game tonite.

By the way if youre going to deep fry the oreos, you might as well get the double stuffed, I mean your already eating deep fried cookies, what the heck man.

We do the deep fried pickes to, you can either batter the dill chips or spears bolth will fry up right nice. ;D

Just as a side note, I cant do tomatoes...I mean when you cut them open...they look like they are still in the larve stage, way too nasty.

Fried Tomatoes are great, Kevin.  I have them for breakfast and supper too.  The trick is slice green tomatoes.  I fry them in a skillet with just a little grease or oil rather than deep frying.  The batter has to have cornmeal in it for the texture. :)

I don't actually batter the green 'maters, but dip them in corn meal, or a mixture of corn meal and flour, after some salt and pepper.  They should be sawn across the grain to about .6 quarters, and the bark should be left on.  Lay the boards in a thin layer of peanut or canola oil, heated to about 350*, turn them after about a minute, then, after about another 45 seconds, transfer them to a paper towel to absorb the grease.
To be good, they must be consumed almost immediately. This means that the cook doesn't get to eat until everybody else is done, OR that the cook is the only one who eats, depending on the size of the cook. ;D

Skip the ladder and use these to change that light bulb.
Besides, they'll haul lumber too.
