Yesterday I was able to tie my right shoestring for the first time since I broke my hip on Nov. 14, 2009. Sarah is in Texas and I either had to tie that thing or walk around town with boot strings loose. It was a struggle but I got it. Funny how small things can bring joy.

You're definately on the mend. Way to go! Keep it up and in no time you'll be better than new cuz it'll be the second time you learned to do many things.

As long as you keep improving, that is the way to go. Little by little and eventually you will be right back where you were sometimes even better if you pay attention to the therapists at least that is what happened to me.

Qweaver, people just don't realize what its like not being able to get up and down. People don't think about how many times a day they squat or bend over. I had a bad wreck and broke my hip in five places, never been so miserable in my life. Glad to hear your doing better, just keep after it, next year you will have forgotten what a bite it was.

No wonder you don't want to deal with firewood. Not fun with a bad hip or knee or back. Have a good vacation.

The hip is actually feeling pretty good now...I just can't reach things like I used to. But I'm finally able to sleep all night and I can walk pretty good and I just ordered a new sawmill today and convinced the wife that I can saw enough to pay off the difference between what I get for the old and the new.
I hope I didn't let my mouth overload my you know what.

Yep, a LT28 with the 25hp. I hope it works like I think it will.

Just what the doctor ordered. That should get you up and around pretty quick.

Good to hear that you are on the mend , those lt28 are a nice mill to have. Saw one going through logs at one of the wood shows and it was doing a fine job.
Congrats on the new mill

Well, I've got the shoe string tying down pat but I'm still 1" away from getting the right sock on.
Next weeks goal. Sarah got back from Texas today so I won't have to walk around the house sockless now.
