Bill Gates and his wife donate 10 Billion $$

I don't care whether you like the guy or not, he sure puts his money where his heart is.

 "The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will donate $10 billion over the next decade to research new vaccines and bring them to the world's poorest countries, the Microsoft co-founder and his wife said Friday."

Yes, and I'm impressed even more that all of his efforts aren't for those who haven't.  His donations are directed toward the development of new vaccines.  He's supporting research and initiating interest in Research Medicine that will hopefully give incentive to our youth to become research scientists.  What a legacy, to have helped to discover cures for cancer and some of the other diseases of the world.

That's a Billion dollars a year for ten years!!  And, that's over and above the 4.5 billion his foundation has already given toward vaccine research over the years.

Years ago when Bill Gates was a simple billionare my partner in Colombia was the person who cleared all vessels coming and going up or down the Amazon between Brazil, Colombia and Peru.  They are close enough that you can have a beer in three countries in 15 minetes.

One day Max was a mess, he was running around making arrangements at the airport on the Brazilian side of town for this mysterious arrival.  Also was preparing documents for a boat to pass from Brazil into Peru all top secret which was not his style at all.  He was the only guy I knew who had credit at the whore house.

Then came the General to the office and ask Max who is coming.  You are treating this like God is coming.  Max said with all respect My General the person coming is bigger than God.

Max had recieved communication as to how much he needed  to clear the ship from one country to another and the cost of landing a plane etc..   He gave a figure and was sent three times as much.  When the plane arrived and the commotion began they would not let Max spend a penny and he stayed with all the money they forwarded in advance.

He still recieves a Christmas card every year personally signed by Bill Gates.
