I ran a 576 with auto-tune a couple of months ago. Dealer let me use it while my 385 was in for warranty work. Seems like a pretty decent saw, balanced nice with decent power. I think if I were in the market for another +70cc saw I would consider it. Tough to give up the old reliable 372's.

We ran a demo 576xp at the spring gtg. Nice saw plenty of power with 28-32" buried.

Me personally wouldn't want auto tune either.

But as long as I can get the 365 372 375 crankcases and keep them alive I'm going to do so.

Then maybe after they all go gone gone  many years down the road. Just maybe then.

i hear you on the 372 but even though ive had 372s i liked the 576 a lil better handleing wise power wasnt really any diffrent but that extra pound in the motor end seems to balance the saw a lil better when cutting dwn as for the auto tune i just dnt trust a motor to tune its self and id hate to drive 40 miles back to the saw shop and then wait fr the saw to be fixed at least when i have to adjust the jets i know how i tuned it in case it still dsnt work right

Takes quite awhile to break them in mine is just now starting to really come alive with ten or twelve tanks through it. But I can bury a 24" bar in oak cutting rounds down the middle no problem. No auto tune either
when hell freezes over I'll snowmobile there too

The reports I have seen on the AT are good so far, but I wouldn't want it anyway.

Powerhead weigh vs. balancing longer bars is a personal thing imo - there is no universal answer...... :)

I stay with my 372xpg - it handles and cuts nicely with a 20" and 24", and that is all I need here, up North.  ;D

Hello folks, this is my 1st post on Forestry Forum.
I want to start by saying that I am the proud new owner of 3 Husqvarna 576XP AutoTunes. 2 are 122 and 126 models built in the 34 wk of 09, the 3rd is 268 model in the 40wk of 09.
I was informed there have been some lean seizures on the 1st tank of fuel and I was recommended to run the saws WOT right out of the box for the 1st 5 minutes in the biggest log possible. Doing this resets the saws computers from the lean carb settings that they got during run in at the factory, which was done to meet the new emission standards.
After the sawdust settled from bucking up 24"-36" frozen white spruce at WOT for 5 min. with a 32" b/c, the 3 saws sat there idling in perfect tune without missing a beat. I'm very impressed how well their autotune setup works and the cutting speed these saws put out.
In the 36 plus years I've run saws I've never had a factory stock 70cc class saw pull a 32" chain like these ones do in big wood. Let alone running a 32" b/c on a saw this small. I think Husqvarna did their homework on this chainsaw. Very strong powerband from bottom up. Very peaky at WOT  with a slight bit of safety barrier breaktone. For a brand new saw it gets to WOT from idle very quick too. We'll see how the precise tuning stands up in future use.
I compared the 576 to my 372 and from looking at the 2 saws without using a tape measure, the only difference in size I can see is the 576 has a slightly larger airfilter cover. Weight differences I can't tell a difference from holding the 2, but then maybe the 372 has more oily sawdust on its self.

Willard
