Oil mix
« on: October 03, 2003, 08:41:07 am »
I know 50:1 is manufacturers spec for Stihl and Husky, and I've been told and seen on other posts that up to 32:1 is better for long life.  Is there any power loss as the oil ratio goes up, or just more smoke?  At what point does the spark plug get fouled up?  I've been running 40:1 because I have a 4L can and have 100mL bottles of oil...
Senior Member?  That's funny.

squatch;
40:1 is plenty of oil for the new saws in my opinion.

Thank you Kevin. 6.4 of husky oil to 2 gallons is close enough right. that is a great chart.

nice graph kevin. I printed it. takes the math out of it. I buy mix oil by the quart with no graph on it. I can't ever seem to remember how much oil I need. Getting CRS I guess.
