This must be the guy that everyone at church was telling me about. A couple of weeks ago, he Sunday Peoria paper had an article about timber framing.
They are just down I-74 west of us at exit 51 in Knoxville, IL.
Interestingly enough, at that same exit, there is an old timber frame barn owned by Ted and Janice King. You can see the barn from I-74. Several years ago, the public television station out of Nebraska, (I think it was Lincoln)
produced a show about the restoration of old barns. The show was named "Barn Again" The barn at Knoxville was featured in that show.
Also, if I am not mistaken, the Ertl toy factory out of Dyersville, Iowa made a scale model
of the barn in Knoxville as well.
I think that I will have
to take a drive this weekend and check this place out.
Maybe Becky and I can ride over there on the iron ponies.
