Kickback safety

I've been searching for kickback safety gear and found something that looks good but I have not heard of it before and hope someone out there has.  It's some kind of device mounted to the bar.  Has anyone heard of it or tried it?  Where do you get it?  url is http://members.tripod.com/~remjr/.

Thanks for the link.  Interesting idea, though I have not seen the idea before either!
Looks like it mounts on the bar slots, and I cant say Ive seen that much slot sticking out from the saw before.  Anyone else?
I must say, I still think the best way of avoiding the problem is to avoid getting into the areas where kickback can occur.  I know that thats not always possible, and things happen accidentally, but I dont think I would go for this idea.  This is my view only!
This idea may work wonderfully, and in which case go out and buy one, but there is something about it that doesnt quite gel with me, however I cant pinpoint it.  Anyone else!?

From the looks of it,  I couldn't use it.  I think I'd go nuts pullin the spike out of every cut,  and even more nuts dragging slash around from tree to tree when it gets caught in the hook.  Just my couple cents worth.

There are specialty anti kick back chains on the market now.

Yeah, but you can still get ripped up pretty good.  I went back and read all of the webpages on the device, plus the patent info.  It does make sense, and seems a lot more "sure" than a chain brake and safety is most important- at least to me   I like the idea that it makes a fulcrum point at the cut. Anyway, thanks for your replies.

Most saws usually kick back when the user is limbing, the hook wouldn`t be in contact with the tree in most cases, I can`t see it being more effective than a brake.
