The local weather forecast here is calling for snow amounts in FEET !  :o :o :o :o

Supposed to start tonight and fall through sometime Sunday.  Current predictions are 20+ inches.    That's more that the total we had over the past 3 years.    The DC area will be at a stand still.  This is a good thing but I won't go there or this thread will end up in the restricted topics area.  :D :D

The last shopping weekend before Christmas and more snow than VA DOT will know what to do with.

I'm staying home.  ;D

Yep, I think it's the same system that has both our rivers flooding. I'll be glad when it's gone.

If it makes you guys feel any better, it is snowing here in Croatia too. They tell me it doesn't do that too often on the islands.

These are the times when living in the mountains is so great.  Looking out the window at that snow covered hillside is just magic. 22deg outside...72deg inside...a hot cup of tea and beauty all around.  Winter is not bad if you can just stay inside with lots of windows to look out.  7" on the ground so far and still snowing.

We are finally getting a break. We've had ~7.3 feet so far this season, and all but like 5 inches of that has been in December.

So far we have about 30".  The drifts are over 4' in some places.   I spent the last 3.5 hours on the tractor trying to clear the driveway.   No luck.  I got about half of it open and got to cold to stay outside.  It's still snowing so hard that visibility is about 200 yds and the wind is drifting the snow back into the drive.    It's supposed to stop by evening.   I can only hope.   I have two customers that are supposed to pick up lumber tomorrow.  That's not going to happen.
