Clearing Saw Info
« on: September 25, 2003, 08:41:11 am »
I am planning to purchase a medium size clearing saw, I guess its down to the big three...
Husky/Jonsered or Stihl.
Is the Husky the same as the Jonsered Models, as in their power saw lines?
I need something in the 50 to 60 CC range.
Any suggestions on brands or models based on reliabilty, ease of use etc. type of harness to wear etc...

Thanks

Any saw made by the big three in the 50 to 60 cc class would be sufficient. How long of a bar do you plan running? How long are you going to use the saw? Just once, once in a while, or very often for the next ten years. I have a Stihl MS 360 pro which I think is an awesome clearing saw. In my opinion the only saws made by a major company to stay away from is the stihl ms290, ms310, and the ms390(029,039) line. I have not had much luck with these saws. This is just my opionion but they are over weight and not very reliable. Once again just my opinion.

I have the Husqvarna 252 and I'm very happy with it.

I could be wrong but I think it came with the harness when I bought it.
