7 degree cuts spruce straight and fast

was gonna go to an older post for this but...........cut a spruce that was way knotted today, and an old used 7 degree made easy work of it without wiggles.......never cut a spruce without wiggles on the LT40 with 10 degree  I like 7 degrees of mizer

Thats interesting, thankyou for the update on the 7 degree blades Woodmills. I'm sure liking what I hear about these blades, getting itchy to try these blades as well. Take care...

it was new blades out of the box so I am thinking around 30 set.

I have 7* blades and WM told me to set them at 25*

Shoot i just order my old 9 degree blades.  Do you need a lot more power behind the 7 degree?  It look like they only come in the thicker band blades.  I only have 15hp elec.  I like the idea of a deeper gullet, though i'd hate to change my cam on the sharpener or switch back and forth between my old blades.

You should be fine with 15hp.
On the 7* with the gullet being deep allows for better sawdust removal and faster feed rates. As far as sharpening, that depends on the type of sharpener you have. Give me a call and we can discus it in further detail.

I measured a new one out of the box so I would know how to re-set...it was 24 thou.

The lesser set must work well with the lesser angle. I'd have guessed more like 27-30.
