1987 Mobile Dimension Saw
« on: September 22, 2008, 12:23:43 am »
I have decided to sell my sawmill, I just don't have the time to run it.
This is what I have:

1987 model 128 hydrostatic drive Mobile Dimension Saw
20' of track
1700cc engine with electric start
5' endstands & 8'  rack & pinion cross feed
mounted on a tandem axle trailer frame
8000 lbs winch
extra 12 tooth main saw
all tools for operation & maintenance
200 extra teeth
lots of other extra parts

Asking $20,000.00

history;
The hour meter on the mill reads 570 hours, I've only operated the mill for about 40 hours, when I bought the mill the orignial owner had not even sharpened the original teeth how they got 530 hours on the meter is beyond me, pop the valve covers and you could eat off the heads they are that clean.  The out side looks like any other sawmill, it's been covered when out side, it's got great oil pressure and does not over heat.  I updated the edger drive to the banded belts.
I will post an current picture Wednesday.  I'll also spend a day with the purchaser to go over operation, set-up, or what ever.

I cut two logs saturday and showed the mill to a guy, but my camera was dead, I'll get a few pictures this week end.

Does the hour meter run when you turn the key to the "on" position for the sake of asking? I knew a fella 20 years ago that bought a wodmizer and left his key on and put a weekends worth of sawing on his mill while it was covered....lol

I would love to have your mill and trade my old one off, I know how many hours Ive put on it and it dont have a meter..... though ive thought about buying a new one and keeping my old 127 rope start machine for the museum i intend to build one day...lol

If times were better, and more logs were available...... we all would have larger piles of sawdust.

William, the hour meter is wired so as long as the key is in the run position power is delivered to the hour meter, so if the key is not returned to the off position (like if the engine runs out of gas, or it stalls in a cut, the meter keeps right on running).
Sorry guys, for not posting pictures, I have been so busy at work I haven't had the time or energy to work on it.  I'm again going to try to get every thing  finished and take some pictures.

I was told that he sold it. His posting was over a year ago.
