I figured it was ran off the rear hydro's of some piece of equipment. Boy if the price were cheaper that would be mighty tempting.

awww now don't say that, that just makes me think harder about it. would go nice behind the tractor to get the logs out of the woods. The farmi winch does great getting them to the trails....... hmmmmm I'll have to think about it.

I had a loader slightly heavier that I sold for $1800 or so to a FF member. FYI, w/ grapple. It does seem high in this market. It is the same orange as the one I had. Guy put it on a nice HD trailer froom Ebay, trailer had 17.5 Super Singles, he got reasonable.

I got a email from her yesterday, and said it was appraised at 4000.00. I told her I was looking to spend about 1500.00 for a dray. someday I will find one.

That seems more reasonable, then you settle for $3000 and everyone is happy. I would pay a $1000 for the grapple. Anyone want ot buy it and sell me the grapple?

I think the grappler is worth more that $1000 if the whole unit is bought for $4000.

A new grapple w/ 360 rotator I think can be had for $1800 last I checked. The grapple is just the end of the boom, not the whole thing.

I just paid for a replacement rotator for my harvester. Cost over $5K. And new grapples for the forwarder are about $3500.

Course those butt grapples may be cheaper and there's plenty of old ones around, at least there used to be before the scrap prices got so high.

A grapple for a skidder is BIG. I had one here I found in a scrap yard HUGE, HEAVY. the one I found was likely 1000 lbs perhaps more. The one on the unit pictured above is small, crane is too light for much else. It is basic and reasonable in size.

The Valby grapple I put on my Iron Mule which isn't much bigger than the one on this trailer was 2,500 dollars. It opens to 50" and bypasses which this one doesn't. Continuous rotators of that size cost between 1,000 and fifteen hundred depending on how much rotator power you want.
There's a Gregory clam trailer on an equipment lot near me for $3,995.00. It's a single axle with big airplane tires and is in pretty decent shape. Seems like a lot of $$$ to me still. I do know where there is a Gafner clam trailer in fair shape for $1,500

It's smaller than the loader on my Mule but is the very same design. There aren't any markings or tags left on it. I've got pics of it on my camera but can't seem to find it at the moment

There's a long story behind how I came across it. I've got the pto pump for it which came on the Case VAC-14 tractor we bought that had been used to pull it

Its got dual rear tires on it for the task

I was picking up some hay for Dale's hay-burners this week and the farmer had a Lil Gaf log trailer, about half the size of the one Karen has fer sale, sound like the one you seen?
The farmer wasn't ready to get rid of it yet.

It's had some less than professional welding done to it and I don't think there's a correct pin on it. I saw pieces of axle shafts, shafts and bolts with nails instead of cotter pins. The original axle has been replaced with one from a truck which maybe an improvement. It has the original factory swivel hitch which I find rather remarkable. Most have been broken and replaced with something else. It was used on a regular basis until its owner had to "leave" for a couple years. It's for sale. She wants 1,500 for it but I think that's negotiable to a point. Money talks and BS walks

Send me an PM if you're interested and I'll contact her. I talked to her when I got the tractors about the possibility of selling it here for her and she's aware of the costs

It would work fine as is I'm sure but with a little TLC it could be a really nice unit. I've seen 'em in a LOT worse shape than this one but it's not as nice as Karen's.

I apologize for not returning any messages regarding this machine. My internet service is thru Alltel which is now Verizon. Alltel's service for my area was provided on a Sprint tower. For an extended period during the change over our service sucked to the point it was slower than our 26K landline dial up if you could connect at all

. I gave up on the Net for a while. It's better now but still sucks. Guess we're gonna have to spring for satelllite service

I was also seriously backlogged with firewood orders and trying to cut sawlogs and just plain really busy. Anyway I checked my e-mails about a week ago for the 1st time and after wading through 1,000s of spam messages I read your inquiries and looked for the trailer owner's phone # to no avail. I was planning to go over that way today to talk to them but Bill called me Friday evening

I told him about the inquiries I had and why I hadn't done anything sooner and that I would have the inquirers call them. He then told me that they were in serious need of cash and wanted to make me a deal. They offered it to me for a third of their original asking price

$:-\$ $:-\$ I went over today and pulled it home. So it's currently no longer available until I decide what I'm going to do with it. I really don't have a need for it but it's kinda cute and I do have the tractor that's setup to pull it with the hydraulic pump so I guess it'll hang out here for a bit $:-\$ Thanks for your interest
