2152 has a tad more HP (3.3 vs 3.1).  The 2152 has a metal case (look up where the bar oil tank is). I Think the 2150 has the plastic "clamshell" design. There may be other differences, but in general, the 2152 is a bit tougher construction. The 2150 is still a good saw, but of the two, those who are going to give it heavy use would probably lean towards the 2152. I own a 2152 and have been happy with it - it ran a bit hot until I replaced the catalytic muffler with a non-cat one.

Others on here can give a much more detailed explanation fo the differences (and perhaps correct any mis-impressions I may have).

i was about to post the same thing.. i have a 2150 and was looking towards the 2152 because of it being more of a pro saw. when i priced the 2152 today it was 490.00. my dealer told me the 2152 has alot more power than the 2150, is it worth that much money? a 2159 is 525.00 . my 2150 has the same cylinder part number as a 2152 so how much more power can it really have?

I have both saws. The 2152 does have a little bit more power but I don't have a preference of which one I use.

For $490, I'd look at the Husky 346XP - List price on the Husky web site is $489.95. It's a great saw significantly more power than the 2152 or 2150 (make sure you get the newer version with the 50cc engine - most of the older ones should be off the dealers' shelves by now).

It seems a bit strange to me: the husky 353 is a sister saw to the Jonsered 2152 (identical guts and specs). The 346XP is definitely a step up in power (3.7 HP) and a pro saw. Yet Husky's web site lists the 346XP as $10 cheaper than the 353, and the same price as what you were just quoted on a 2152.

i asked about the 2153 red 346xp but he said he carried only the popular saws, ! is the 346 not popular ?  i would love to try one of the new 346s i wasnt so happy with my old one. j mc how do the 346s compare to a 359 there also close in price?

Here's a link to Husqvarna's chainsaws with the suggested retail pricing. You can click on a saw and call up more detail as well. Just remember, specs don't tell everything. Even if accurate, a saw's peak HP doesn't tell you much about it's torque band.

The 359 is a tad more HP than the 346XP (3.9 vs 3.7) it also weighs about a pound more (12.1 vs 11.0 w/o bar and chain). Both are nice saws, from what I've heard. I've only run a 359 briefly, and never had the pleasure of running a 346XP. I'll let one of the more experienced users comment on how they stack up.

My local Husky dealer also does not carry the 346XP, though he's happy to order it if someone wants one. He says he just hasn't had much demand for them. He does have the 359 and 353.

If the 2150 is a newer 51.7cc EPA one, what makes the differece in power is the piston - put a 353/2152 piston in it, and the power will be the same.

That price seem way too high for a 2152, if it is USD!

Thats what i thought, $490 for a 2152 $525.00 for a 2159 and $625.00 for a 2156. usd, and dont carry the 2153!

though the names are different, look at the riveted data tag on the saw.  Jonsered, Husquavarna ,and Pioneer/Partner used to all be made by Electrolux, the parent company of all 3 brands.  I have owned and run Jonsered, and Husky professionally in the woods, I think that branding depends on how good your local support system is for parts/service.  I admit though I prefer the swede saws over all else, I have run stihl, and worked on them, they are good in their own right as well.  I just like the swede saws better.
