saw blades

i have these saw blades, they are not really for sale but i didnt want to get into trouble posting them in the sawmill section. they are 22 inch dia. i think they have 54 teeth on them, two cutters in the sides of them for something. i am sure that anyone who knows what they are will be able to explain them.

at any rate if anyone can use them or knows what they are for you can acquire them for shipping charges plus a donation to the FF.

i have 5 of them, i got them from a saw shop that works on blades. they were in his throw away pile.
i ask why he was throwing out new blades and he told me that the cutters in the sides were the wrong size/length for either softwood or hardwood , whatever that company was running these would not work for them.

i think they are for some sort of ganged edger or something, and the cutters in the sides were clogging up on them. they sent them back and he was tired of warehousing them.

if they are good for someone i hate to destroy them. they are about 5/16 thick on the carbide teeth. they still have the plastic dip over the teeth.

The cutters in the side would make me think it is some kind of what used to be called a planer blade.

What is the diameter of the center hole? thanks

i will have to measure that and get back to you on it. i just knew someone could look and tell by what it was.

that arbor hole is 4 inch as best my tape tells me. it has 3 holes in it too as you can see in the pics.

We run cutters on the sides of our blades on the gang edger. About the only way to chew through cottonwood.  I am suprised they don't just replace the cutters with the right size.

I have an interest in the blades for a second saw I'd like to rig up. Does the the 3 holes have a 45 or 60 deg. beveled head bolt go in there ? Also, what is the size of the hole ____ where the 3 bolts holes go through the blade.

I'm guessing (3 bolts) 5/16" or smaller from the picture.

You say that the arbor hole is 4 inches, is this measurement fairly close ?

I might be able to use them if I could mount them (reason for questions).

Please let me know what those (3) bolt sizes are  and  spacing from the center of the hole out-wards.. say 2 1/4" inches from large center of hole to center of the small bolt hole as an example.

i will try and measure some more things on the blades 2nite. i know the arbor hole is 4"
because it stretched from the 2" mark to the 6" mark on my tape. if it needs to be closer than that i will get out my caliper.
 the smaller holes you see are just that -holes- guessing, i would say about 1/2 inch in dia. no bevels or chamfers that i seen.

yes i still have them, i also ahve not went back and measured the smaller holes for Avery.

They're probably off a gang resaw used to produce pallet cutstock from cants. They would be stacked on an arbor with appropiately sized spacers in between to produce the right thickness of parts.

avery, sorry for the delay in the measurements. the 3 holes you see on the blade are in a 2.5" bolt circle and they are .5 " in dia.
