Does anyone have one or know of someone who has a machine from www(dot)johnellis(dot)com?

I've been looking at getting something for our city water for sometime but to get a softener and then distiller/osmosis = big $$$

Or any other better ideas.

Have you thought about collecting rainwater? I suppose it would be a limited supply though.
