the orange family

spent the early part of yesterday cleaning and tweaking my collection of small orange machines.  When I was finished they looked so nice like a happy orange family. :D

Last week we sold our 084 and bought a new MS 440 ;D

Then a customer dropped off a bundle of 3" dia Cedar.

After the guy left Linda grabbed the saw and threatened to "saw up" his Cedar.

I encouraged her to do so as I grabbed the camera off the forklift. I wanted to watch Linda's boots fill with chips :D

Always shootin me in the back!   ::)

What he didn't tell you was that I "ordered" him to get that saw, because he was going to hurt himself with the 084!  ;D

I often try to work it around so I get "ordered" to do something that I think might be of question in the ultimate decision.  ;D
(Don't mean to imply that electricAl would do such a thing though).

Nice saw, and Linda's plan to saw that cedar into kindling lengths might be the best decision (shudder a bit when I see a saw in hand and no chaps on). However, I suspect the customer had 6" wide boards in mind. What will you make out of it?

Forgot to pat you on the back for a job well done.

Nice clean family,        hard workers too. ;D

Kevin,

Sorry man you'll have to get in line. Linda get's a serious job offer every year.  Tree services. Local tool hospital, loggers, cabinet shops.

There is something special about a woman that can handle big equipment ;)

You know how there is always a crowd around a WM tent at the big shows.

What if Mary, Patty ,and Linda were sawing at the show.

Now that would be a show!   :o 8)

That's a nice looking line-up of saws James, I'm a Stihl man but Patty has a Husky that is a real nice saw. I showed her your picture and explained how could she stand to see someone else with more saws than me. Her reply was NOT "oh honey you go out and buy as many as you think you need".

Wood-Mizer would do well for themselves to show how many gals use their saws. Although I don't think I would want Patty to wear her summer work clothes to demo them in. When it's hot in the sawshed you tend to forget about etiquette.

I was 3 miles from the hard road and no one dropped in to visit.  I was out throwing rocks into the mud holes on my miserable driveway one day, workin in just boots and socks. :D  Along comes the sheriff doing some campaignin for the next election.  Now theres a man who knows how to keep cool he says. :D :D

Linda,

How much would you charge me to give Becky
some lessons?   I could sure use some more help
around the sawmill.     Heck she pitched in
at Noble's to help with the milking so I figured that
all she needs is a little encouragement and she
would become a great sawyer.    :D

Perry,

Start by telling Becky she would make a great sawyer.

Find a nice quiet place where there are is no crowd.

Ask her if she wants to tag along when you go sawing.

Encourage her to make a couple cuts.

When she starts, walk a little ways away.
( find some busy work ;) )
Close enough for comfort, far enough not to hover.

Praise her for a job well done ( no mater what  :-X ).
About 10 good praises for every criticism, should be encouraging.

You can work on speed and quality of cut some other day. ;D

Well now since I've embarrassed Patty half to death I will say that we wear a few more clothes than Woodmills. :D It's just when it gets hot you seem to wear only what you need. Hope I'm digging myself out of this hole I put myself in.

well that was years ago before the old fart thing anyway! :D :D
yes to the tractorbynet typhoon, i like that site as most of the info is good and solid.  Those of you with tractors should check it out as there are forums for most makes along with repairs, attachments and others.  Also if you want a place to put photos of a larger size it allows 100,000 or so.  When i resize photos now I make two copies one for here and one for there.
