Help changing feed belt on drum sander
« on: May 01, 2009, 07:21:54 am »
Howdy all,
I've got an old Kuster brand dual drum 18" sander.  I think its pretty similar to Grizzly.  Question is the belt is pretty wore after 25 years and looks very hard to take off.  Looks like they spliced in place.  Anyone know about how this works?  I've heard about replacing with sandpaper like performax, its got a rubber type belt now.  I've searched the net and can't locate any helpful instructions.
Thanks
kelvin

Have you tried dressing it with the drum? That is standard procedure with the large belt sanders.
