If you go to www.youtube.com and search for Susan Boyle you will find it.

There is no need to say 'unleaded regular gas'. It's all unleaded. Just say 'regular gas'. It's not the 70s anymore. (At least that's what my wife tells me.)

She has a good voice.  I do think that Paul Potts was more 'real'.

If there is an ounce of justice in the world, that talented lady will win that contest and start a career.

Hey Scott we saw this about the same time I guess. I posted the video about 4 hours before your post here in another thread.

One thing that didn't dawn on me until I noticed a comment on one of the youtube versions I happened to be watching was found in this comment:

"Why is it so amazing that a dumpy-looking woman can sing? I'm not sure I fully appreciate whatever it is I'm supposed to about the situation. We are so predisposed to believe that this woman is a loser because of her appearance, yet of course appearance has little to do with ability. But we KNOW this, don't we? And if we don't we should right? Has anyone ever seen a sexy, svelte operatic singer? Who sang better Kate Smith or Britney Spears?"

I don't often respond to youtube comments but couldn't help myself this time:

"I don't think most people are happy for her because she is "dumpy-looking", but because she is 47, well past when most people can get a shot at international success, and also because she is so personable, humble, and so likeable. I cannot speak for others, but as for me, to see such a pleasant woman who has by her own description lived such a simple life with just her and her cat, it makes me feel so happy for her to be able to BEAT THE ODDS AND LIVE HER DREAM!!! I think she is adorable. "

It had nothing to do with her looks for me. It didn't occur to me when I was watching the video that the crowd was un-accepting of her because of her looks; I thought they were against her because of her age, and her somewhat eccentric mannerisms but for me, I liked her immediately.

The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

I don't buy music, but I will buy hers.  I wondered what else she could do, and found this.  It is supposed to be something she did for a charity cd in 1999.  Think Karen Carpenter.

I was over at my local pizza/beer joint last night. She was the topic of discussion. The general consensus was everyone hoped she gets a shot at Pro singing.

I'd say she's a whole lot more marketable then the opera singer for sure.

How many of these undiscovered gems do you think there are?  I'll bet that many a town has someone that has a talent that is truly noteworthy.  Success is driven more by opportunity than any other factor.

I just loved her.  As the audience went from skeptical to awed, so did I.  She has a beautiful voice full of expression.  Wow, is right!

The dowdy hairdo and dress really threw everybody off.  I'm not totally convinced that that( ;D) wasn't by design.  If it was, it taught the World a very valuable lesson.  While she might be officially an amateur, she is no novice at performing in public.  Regardless, she has a phenomenal talent, and I hope she will produce some albums.  I'll be standing in line to get one! :) :) :)
