Hello all
New to the forum.Does anyone know of a 18" bar that will fit my 262 that is comparable to the Windsor mini-pro.I can't find a mini-pro to fit my saw.I can mod one to work but was looking for a quick solution.
Thanks.... ;D

Oregon Power Match Plus will also give you a solid bar with a reduced nose radius.

Thanks Kevin
Building a hancrafted log house.I have a 20" mini pro for my 395.It is probably over-powered for the small nose radius but I luv the maneuverability I get with the mini-pro.
Do you think the power match is a better bar.I might try it out on the 262.

Whether it's a better bar I can't say but I would think it would compare in quality, just keep feeding it lots of chain oil, keep the rails dressed, keep the groove clean and never use a badly worn chain on it.

Well, I phoned Bailey's to order a mini-pro.They tell me Windsor quit making them for Medium Huskies.Got the same story from Celtic Distributers.
The bar I have mounted to my 395xp is actually a 20" Stihl mini pro.It came with a c-shaped clip to fit over the Husky's  bar studs. It worked fine other than I had to run an extra drive link so that the tensioning pin would line up.
The problem with trying to mount a 262xp is the oil gallery does'nt line up nor does the tensioning pin.
Guess I will try modding one this winter. :-/

The reason it's great for log building is it's short overall height. With low profile chain, you can turn some sharp corners and plunge narrow slots.

Kevin
It took me along time figure out why my saw would never cut straight.I always thought I was extremly poor at filing until I read your tip about keeping the rails dressed.I tried using two small blocks of wood to keep the file completely flat when dressing the bar.
Thanks for the tip!
The Pferd unit works much faster and no more blistered thumbs!!!

You'll save many chains and prolong the life of your bar by dressing it  ...and not have the aggravation of those crooked cuts.
Glad to hear you like it.
