I meant skid sled when I said portable winch, the winch was on the sled. Back in the day, the local Forest Products Marketing Board used to loan one out to woodlot owners.

Pre-commercial thinning pays off. :)

I saw your pictures its working  well ,I though with the pointed end it would get caught on thing in the bush easier ,guess I was wrong.

I love it. I was thinking of adapting my old satellite dish that has been laying in the weeds for 3 years as a skidding sled, but this looks much better!
