CL6048 Temperatures Readings

I’m been taking a close look at water temperatures on my CL6048.
From the day I installed my CL6048 the  19”x21” heat exchanger did not seem like it was producing enough heat.
The furnace blower just ran continuously and the house would never get that warm or around 70 degrees.
(I have a very difficult house to heat).

The OWB Heat exchanger is rated at 140kbtu.
This exchanger did not make the air near as hot as the 140kbtu oil furnace did.
(they both use the same blower and CFM’s).
The oil furnace alone puts out air at about 125 degrees. With one 19”x21”  exchanger I got about 100 degree air coming out of the same duct.

So I added a second  19”x21” OWB heat exchanger just below the first one.
This second exchanger brought the air temperature up the about the equivalent of the oil furnace.

There seemed to be about 10 degree of water temperature loss between the OWB and the water temperature at the manifold in my basement.
Central Boiler says the CL6048’s gauge is accurate + or – 3 degrees.
I have 75’ of Themopex buried at 18” .

This morning I decided to place my digital cooking thermometer right down into the top of the OWB’s water tank.
I found there is actually about a 10 degree difference in reading between the cooking thermometer and the CL6048’s gauge.
So this means the hottest I can make the water is 185 and not 195 degrees.

I’m interested in members similar experience or ideas.

Bart, hope I can help.....I have sold c.b furnaces in Michigan for going on 7 years now.  I do not have a home we can not heat, and have never put 2 exchangers in one plenum.  The 1st. thing I would look into is your heating system  . Do you have enough heat runs and more important cold air returns back to your furnace.  We had to add some extra feeds and cold air returns to a few jobs because there heating system did not have what they needed for the type of home they had.  Lots of windows, open floor plan, lots of open space.  Your furnace with 185 water temp. will heat your home.

Thanks for your advice.
My oil heat system is brand new.
The duct exhaust are 8 x 8”  for 1500’ of floor space.
My second floor has no heat expect what goes up the large open stair case.
(but that’s OK I’m just talking about downstairs for now)
My return is a single 33”x 33” about 4’ height in the center hallway (Very Open).
I don’t think I have any CFM air flow restrictions.
My home’s outside walls are clay block with horsehair plaster directly over top of the block, (No Insulation).
Each room has 4 huge single pane windows 2’x 6’.
Basically I’m heating the air inside the house and not the walls or windows. 
I plan on adding a 22x25 heat exchanger to my upstairs heat pump, and maybe another to the basement.
I know that will make the 6048 eat allot more wood.
Hey but that cool, I’m very happy with my 6048.

You might have better luck heating a tent.

At least the tent stops the wind.
I love my old home.
I just need cheap heat and and lots of it.
The 6048 is a life saver, or a back breaker when it comes to hauling wood.
